MUMBAI:  Indian pacers displayed stunning bowling prowess and secured a resounding victory over Sri Lanka by a margin of 302 runs. This victory marks India's seventh consecutive win, solidifying their status as the only undefeated team in the World Cup.

Mohammed Shami (5/18) once again emerged as the star of the night, dazzling the audience with a remarkable five-wicket haul and rightfully earning the Man of the Match award. With this triumph, India has officially secured their spot in the semifinals.

Sri Lanka was completely clueless while chasing a target of 358 runs. Jasprit Bumrah claimed Pathum Nissanka's wicket on the very first ball of the innings. Subsequently, Mohammed Siraj dismissed Dimuth Karunaratna and Sadheera Samarawickrama in the second over, while Captain Kusal Mendis fell in the fourth over.

Mohammed Shami, introduced into the attack in the 10th over, swiftly removed Asalanka and Hemantha in his very first over. In his subsequent overs, he continued to dismantle the Sri Lankan batting order by dismissing Angelo Mathews, Kasun Rajitha, and Chameera. Finally, Jadeja contributed by taking Madushanka's wicket, bringing Sri Lanka's innings to a close with a mere 55 runs on the board in 19.4 overs.

On the batting front, India enjoyed a fine outing during the first innings on this pitch. Despite Captain Rohit Sharma's early dismissal in the first over, the following three batsmen, Shubman Gill (92), Virat Kohli (88), and Shreyas Iyer (82), delivered spectacular performances.

Ravindra Jadeja's impressive contribution in the latter stages of the innings helped India post a total of 357/8 in their allotted 50 overs. Madushanka (5/80) emerged as Sri Lanka's top bowler, claiming five wickets.

With this victory and their secured place in the semifinals, India is set to face South Africa on November 5 in their next match. On the other side, Sri Lanka is teetering on the brink of elimination with two matches in their hand.
