India's first center of excellence (CoE) for new mobility to come up in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The vibrant city known for its technological advancements, is all set to become the hub of India's first Center of Excellence (CoE) for new mobility.
The CoE, which focuses on connected, autonomous, secure, and electric vehicles, is the outcome of a strategic collaboration between Mobis India, Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani Hyderabad, and the Government of Telangana.
The signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place on Wednesday at T-Hub in Hyderabad in the presence of IT and Industries Minister K. T. Rama Rao.
The CoE aims to empower engineers with cutting-edge knowledge and skills in the rapidly evolving field of new mobility. The CoE would provide a significant reservoir of highly trained workforce capable of driving innovation and addressing the issues particular to this segment by combining the expertise and resources of Mobis India, BITS Pilani Hyderabad, and the Government of Telangana.
Speaking at the event, Minister KTR highlighted the importance of equipping engineers with the necessary knowledge and skills to accelerate the growth of new mobility. He emphasized that the CoE would play a pivotal role in achieving this objective by providing aspiring engineers with expertise in smart mobility systems, reinforced with data science and simulation techniques. This comprehensive training would enable engineers to contribute and innovate on the job, fostering a rapid learning curve.
The CoE would offer specialized courses and research opportunities in areas such as automotive networks and communications, embedded systems design, advanced driver assistance systems, automotive cybersecurity, connected cars, and more. The curriculum would be designed to meet industry demands and stay at the forefront of emerging technologies.
Hyderabad, with its thriving ecosystem of technology companies, research institutions, and skilled workforce, is the ideal location for this pioneering initiative. The CoE would not only benefit the aspiring engineers but also contribute to the overall growth of the automotive industry in the region.
