KCR to inaugurate temple, mosque, church on Telangana Secretariat premises on August 25
The places of worship were being constructed at the behest of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in such a way as to promote interfaith brotherhood
HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) will inaugurate all three places of worship- temple, church and mosque-built in Dr BR Ambedkhar Secretariat on August 25, 2023, said Minister for Roads and Buildings (R&B) Vemula Prasanth Reddy.
The minister accompanied by the R&B officials inspected the ongoing works on the shrines at the Secretariat premises on Saturday. After going through the works, he asked the officials to complete the ongoing works at the earliest and make them ready for their inauguration scheduled on August 25.
Prasanth Reddy said that the places of worship were being constructed at the behest of the Chief Minister in such a way as to promote interfaith brotherhood and the construction should be better than before. The temple was constructed in 2,300 yards where Shivalayam, Pochamma Gudi, Hanuman and Ganapati temples were also part of it. The idols to be installed in the temple were brought from Tirupati. Special rituals like ‘yagam’ would be performed to mark the opening of the temple, he said.
The minister said that similar rituals would also be performed during the opening of mosque and church, according to the traditions of respective faiths in the presence of the religious heads. “The spirit of ‘Telangana’ is ‘Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb’ and all religions are given equal importance. That's why KCR respected all religions equally and built the worship places in the Secretariat better than the previous ones,” Prasanth Reddy said.
