HYDERABAD: Telangana BJP president and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy filed his nomination for the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat on Friday for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

He was accompanied by Rajya Sabha member K Laxman, BJP state vice president Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, and several other senior party leaders for the nominations.

A massive rally was held in the Secunderabad area before the nominations. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh participated in the rally, which commenced from Sri Ujjain Mahankali Devasthanam on Friday.

During the rally, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted that in the past ten years, there hasn't been a single instance of corruption in the BJP government, emphasizing that the BJP is known for its corruption-free governance. He lauded the development in Secunderabad since Kishan Reddy assumed office as MP, asserting that Kishan Reddy stands apart as a leader of integrity.

Referring to the sacrifices made for the formation of Telangana, he criticised the BRS government for alleged corruption, stating that those who sacrificed for the state have not been honored. He emphasised India's economic growth, projecting it to become the third-largest economy by 2047, and highlighted the construction of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir as a hallmark of the government's achievements.

Appealing to voters, Rajnath Singh assured that Kishan Reddy has been proactive in addressing their concerns and promised that their voices would be heard in Parliament if Kishan Reddy wins. He also said that former BRS minister Etala Rajender had quit the BRS and joined the BJP due to corruption within the BRS administration.

Asaduddin Owaisi files nomination in Hyderabad 

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday submitted his nomination at the Hyderabad collector's office.

He was accompanied by MLAs, MIM corporators, and local leaders, following the Juma prayers at Charminar Makkah Masjid.
