HYDERABAD: Posters affixed on the walls of Gandhi Bhavan, the headquarters of the Congress party in Telangana, asking the party not to entertain ‘parachute’ leaders coming from other constituencies created a flutter on Monday morning.

The posters allegedly published by LB Nagar Congress depicting former Nizamabad MP and Congress campaign committee chairman Madhu Yashki Goud’s picture with parachute read: “Save LB Nagar Congress. Please say no ticket to parachutes. Madhu Yashki go back to Nizamabad.” The Gandhi Bhavan staff noticing the posters that have come up overnight, jumped into action and tried removing them on a war footing.

It is said that the former MP came to know about the posters and was trying to nip the dissidence in LB Nagar in the bud. Yashki was elected as Nizamabad MP in 2009. He lost elections twice after 2009. Having come to a conclusion to stay away from the Loksabha elections, he opted for the LB Nagar Assembly seat and formally filed an application.

However, Jakkidi Prabhakar Reddy, brother of senior leader and former MLA Malreddy Rangareddy who was hoping for a nomination in LB Nagar was perturbed by the development and was trying his best to wrest the nomination from Madhu Yashki. The poster war seems to be a precursor to an ensuing triangular fight in LB Nagar.
