Lifting of Raja Singh's suspension in leadership's hand, says Etela

HYDERABAD: Etela Rajender, chairman of the Election Management Committee for Telangana BJP made it clear that the issue of lifting of suspension of Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh Lodh was under the purview of the party leadership and expressed hope that soon a positive decision to bring him back into the party fold will be taken.

BJP on August 23, 2022, suspended Raja Singh from the party for allegedly making derogatory comments outraging the religious feelings of a particular community.

Rajender met Raja Singh on Wednesday and discussed alleged police harassment meted out against the party cadre under the latter’s constituency. Later, speaking to the media, Rajender said that the police were targeting innocent youth and slapping cases on them for minor altercations with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) activists under the Gosha Mahal and Langar Houz areas.

“Police booked 11 cases against Mangalhat corporator M Sashikala for trying to pacify the BJP and the BRS party workers who were getting into a brawl over erecting party banners,” he said.

Alleging similar police highhandedness in Gajwel town, he said that 25 party activists were arrested and 11 were sent to Karimnagar jail for protesting the desecration of Shivaji’s statue in the town. He demanded the immediate release of the BJP workers.
