Madhapur CI Gaddam Mallesh faces heat for attending birthday party on cable bridge

HYDERABAD: Madhapur CI Gaddam Mallesh has come under fire for participating in a birthday party celebration on the cable bridge in Hyderabad, breaking the rules and thus sending a message that rules are only for people.

Mallesh, the CI of Madhapur, had earlier warned the people over holding celebrations on the bridge, citing it as punishable under Section 188. However, Mallesh, had himself gone against his statements and was found attending a birthday party on the same bridge raising questions whether the rules apply to everyone, or just to the public.

Meanwhile, Madhapur CI Gaddam Mallesh has yet to respond on the incident and it remains to be seen whether any action will be taken against CI for not following rules.

In fact, the rule of a Rs 1,000 fine for blocking traffic on the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge was brought in after a tragic incident. A young man died while taking a selfie on the bridge when he was hit by a vehicle. To prevent such accidents and ensure public safety, birthday parties and other activities that could disrupt traffic werebanned on the bridge.

Dcp orders probe

The image that went viral showed Madhapur SHO, G Mallesh along with others celebrating a birthday party by cutting a cake on the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge. Following the incident, DCP of Madhapur, Dr Vineeth G IPS., ordered a detailed inquiry into the matter, and suitable actions would be taken based on the findings of the report.
