Man convicted for killing wife in cold blood, sent to life imprisonment
Considering Lavanya as a hurdle to his illicit affair and lavish lifestyle he decided to kill her.
HYDERABAD: The Ranga Reddy court at LB Nagar convicted an accused person named Katmalla Jangaiah, a photographer by profession and native of Talakondapally village for murdering his wife. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 for the heinous crime committed by the accused.
According to Additional DCP P. Srinivas Rao, Cyberabad, the incident occurred December 17, 2021, at 11 pm at Talakondapally village and mandal, Ranga Reddy District Jangaiah married Lavanya in 2016. They were blessed with two sons. After a few years, the accused developed an illegal relationship with another woman. Since then the accused used to torture Lavanya by beating her.
Lavanya informed her parents who held panchayath before the village elders and tried to convince the accused to avoid the bad habits. Considering Lavanya as a hurdle to his illicit affair and lavish lifestyle he decided to kill her. On December 17, 2021, in the absence of family members at the house, the accused punched huge blows on the sensitive parts of the deceased and firmly hit her head against the wall causing severe bleeding as a result of which she died.
Based on the complaint the then sub inspector B.S.S Vara Prasad of Talakondapally PS registered a case. As it was a grave case in nature, the then CI Amangal J Upender took up the investigation, After completion of the investigation, he filed a charge sheet.
