Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, CS Shanti Kumari hail MP Santosh Kumar’s ‘Green India Challenge’

HYDERABAD: Rajya Sabha member of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Joginapally Santosh Kumar on Thursday called upon women to participate in the Green India Challenge and plant saplings on March 8, 2023, on World Women’s Day, and protect them with the same affection they showed towards their children.

Nature would flourish more if the same hands that raised children planted saplings, Santosh Kumar said.

A Santhi Kumari, Chief Secretary of Government of Telangana, wanted that all women should join the 'Green India Challenge' special programme and plant saplings for the sake of protecting the nature. She urged all female colleagues to plant saplings in abundance on International Women's Day.

Education Minister P Sabita Indra Reddy remarked that women were more powerful and they would effectively achieve the responsibilities taken up by them. The minister said that she would do anything within her capacity to make sure that every woman and student participated in the 'Green India Challenge' Women's Day special program.

"Women are working relentlessly for the conservation of the Earth while excelling in all fields," said Smita Sabharwal, Chief Minister's Secretary. With the inspiration of Salumarada Thimmakka, she called upon every woman to plant a sapling on International Women's Day and make the Green India Challenge a successful program.

Priyanka Varghese, OSD, said that the ‘Green India Challenge’ programme was a selfless programme embarked upon for the benefit of the next generation. She suggested that every woman should be a partner of the ‘Green India Challenge.’
