HYDERABAD: Taking another step towards providing rail passengers with a one-of-a-kind experience, South Central Railway(SCR) has replicated one of its novel initiatives at another important railway station in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

SCR's Secunderabad Division has opened a 'Rail Coach Restaurant' on the grounds of Necklace Road Railway Station, providing foodies with a one-of-a-kind dining experience. This is the second such coach restaurant in a Telangana railway station, following the 'Restaurant on Wheels' that was previously established on the premises of Kacheguda Station.

Necklace Road Railway Station is one of the busiest stations on the suburban network in the twin-cities, and there are numerous picnic spots nearby. A considerable number of tourists visit the station on a daily basis. Necklace Road Railway Station was chosen to house a train restaurant to provide foodies in the Twin Cities with a distinct culinary experience.

An empty rail coach was completely renovated with modern and aesthetically pleasing furnishings to provide guests with a unique dining experience. The contract for the maintenance of the railway coach restaurant was awarded to Boomerang Restaurant in Hyderabad for a period of five years.

This multi-cuisine restaurant, opened in an empty space in the circulation area, serves both rail passengers and the public. The multi-cuisine restaurant offers both dine-in and take-out options to customers. Located at one of the most popular locations in Hyderabad, this bus restaurant initiative offers a unique blend of nostalgia and gastronomy, as well as a unforgettable dining experience for its customers.

Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR, commended the Secunderabad department for the unique initiative of utilizing an unused coach. He said that foodies in the twin cities would get another special food option in the city region. He appealed to rail users and the public to take advantage of this opportunity to experience firsthand the railroad's novel initiative.
