HYDERABAD: Thousands of Muslims in Hyderabad offered Namaz at the Eidgah, Mir Alam, and Mecca Masjid on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr on Thursday.

The Muslim community in Hyderabad marked the conclusion of the holy month of Ramzan with fervent devotion, celebrating Eid-Ul-Fitr as the moon was sighted on Wednesday. A significant number of Muslims were seen gathering at various mosques to offer prayers across the city.

People dressed in new attire gathered at the mosques and exchanged greetings after the prayers. Elders in families distributed Edi to the children, while women prepared Eid delicacies for their loved ones. Families gathered to share meals and sweets, savoring traditional dishes like Sheer Kurma.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy greets Muslims on Eid-Ul-Fitr

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy extended warm greetings to the Muslim brethren on the occasion of the Ramzan (Eid-Ul-Fitr) festival on Thursday. He wished the Muslim community a joyous celebration and urged them to seek blessings from Almighty Allah.

The Chief Minister called upon Muslims to celebrate the festival which is being observed after a month of strict fasting, with all family members and relatives full of happiness. He said that the Ramzan festival promotes the importance of serving others and highlights the values of secularism and religious harmony.

The Chief Minister highlighted the religious practices of strict fasting, disciplined prayers, and charity to the poor in the name of Zakat and Fitra during the holy month of Ramzan. He said that these practices serve as a role model for humanity, particularly significant as the month when the holy book of the Quran originated.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed Telangana's status as a symbol of 'Ganga Jamuna Tehzeeb' and highlighted the state government's top priority towards the welfare and development of Muslim minorities. The newly elected state government already laid the foundation stone for the Metro Rail project in the Old city of Hyderabad and enhanced budget outlay for Minorities welfare. Lands were identified for construction of permanent minority residential schools, he added.

Revanth Reddy prayed for the prosperity of Telangana and for all sections of people to live happily together.
