Mynampally rally angers airport commuters; Malkajgiri Congress president resigns
The rally took everyone by surprise leading to huge traffic jams right from the exit gate of the airport spilling all the way up to Shamshabad.
HYDERABAD: Malkajgiri sitting MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao took out a huge rally from Shamshabad airport, soon after arriving from New Delhi on Monday. Mynampally and his son Rohith had joined the Congress in the national capital three days ago.
The rally took everyone by surprise leading to huge traffic jams right from the exit gate of the airport spilling all the way up to Shamshabad.
Speaking at the airport, Mynampally said that "The BRS is faltering and will lose the upcoming elections. After joining the Congress, false cases are being foisted against my followers and are being harassed. Even if the BRS files hundreds of cases against them everyday, they will not back down."
Medchal-Malkajgiri Congress president tenders resignation
Meanwhile, disappointed that the Congress party had openly declared Mynampally as their Malkajgiri candidate, Medchal district Congress president Nandikanti Sridhar tendered his resignation from the party. He sent his resignation letter to All Indian Congress Committee president Mallikarjuna Kharge. Sridhar has been in Congress since 1994 and had also worked for the victory of Revanth Reddy in the last Parliamentary elections. He had been aspiring for an MLA ticket this time around.
In his letter, Sridhar stated that injustice was meted out to him as Mynampally, who had filed illegal cases against Congressmen when he was in the BRS, was now the party candidate. He added that it was disappointing that the Congress was giving ticket to a privileged and ignoring the backward classes.
