Narcotics wing seizes 90 kg ganja worth Rs 25 lakh from interstate peddlers

Accused revealed that they had been cultivating ganja in their agricultural land in Visakha Agency area of Andhra Pradesh and transporting it to other dealers

HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TS-NAB) arrested four interstate ganja peddlers and seized 90 kg of ganja, a car and four cell phones worth Rs 25 lakh on Tuesday.

The accused have been identified as Vanthala Raja Rao, Vanthala Babji, Anupoju Sai Siva Kumar, and Rathod Venkat who all hail from Andhra Pradesh.

The sleuths of TS-NAB along with Patancheru Police apprehended the accused while they were transporting the ganja in a Santro car. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had been cultivating ganja in their agricultural land in Vishaka Agency area of Andhra Pradesh and transporting it to other dealers, who in turn sell the same to peddlers and suppliers in and around Zaheerabad and Mumbai. They had modified the Santro car to conceal the ganja in the front and backside of the bumper and secret boxes beneath the car.

The accused were produced in court and remanded to judicial custody.
