Orange, red alert for next two days in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Moderate to heavy rain is anticipated to fall across Hyderabad until Tuesday evening. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) requested everyone to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.

The Indian Metrological Department (IMD) has issued an 'Orange Alert' for July 25 and 'Red Alert' for July 26, 2023 across Hyderabad. Moderate to heavy rain is anticipated for the city and surrounding areas, with strong gusts possible. Surface winds of 10-14 kmph are most likely.

Rainfall ranging from moderate to torrential Strong spells are quite likely to occur in the city on July 26, 2023.Surface winds would be Westerly North-Westerly with gusts of 10-14 kmph.

The Malakpet circle received the most rain (7.8cm), followed by Rajendranagar circle (7.8cm), and LB nagar circle South Hasthinapuram comm hall (7.3cm).The GHMC received 267 complaints of stagnation, of which 177 were resolved and 99 are still being processed.They also got 12 complaints about tree falls, of which 12 were resolved.

All gates of Hussain Sagar gates opened due to heavy rains

With massive inflows continuing, authorities opened all of the gates of the Himayat Sagar reservoir here on Tuesday to let water flow into the Musi River.

The authorities cautioned locals in low-lying areas to be on alert since the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rainfall for the next two days.
