HYDERABAD: Osmania General Hospital (OGH) in Hyderabad achieved a significant feat as OGH doctors successfully extracted nails, a shaving blade, and tape from the stomach of a 21-year-old prisoner Mohammed Sohail.

Sohail, admitted to Chanchalguda jail due to severe stomach pain, was brought to Osmania Hospital on January 8 by escort police. An X-ray performed by the medical team, led by gastroenterologist Dr. B. Rameshkumar, revealed the presence of two nails, a shaving blade, and other small items.

Responding promptly, the doctors performed an endoscopic procedure on Tuesday to extract the objects. They successfully conducted the surgery and removed all the objects.

According to Dr. B. Nagender, the superintendent of Osmania Hospital, Sohail's health is currently stable. The reasons behind Sohail's consumption of dangerous items like nails, shaving blades, and tape remained unsolved, as he had not disclosed the time or reason for his consumption despite questioning.
