HYDERABAD: Retired Superintendent of Police and formerly DCP, OSD of Taskforce, Hyderabad City Police P Radha Kishan Rao who was arrested on March 29 has been taken into police custody from Thursday up to April 10, 2024, for further questioning in connection with the alleged phone tapping case.

Radhakishan Rao was accused of being part of a conspiracy with some other persons to develop the profiles of private persons unauthorisedly, clandestinely, and illegally in SIB. The police said that he used them in a partisan manner to favour a political party at the behest of some persons and also conspired to destroy the records to conceal the crimes.

Radhakishan Rao would be under police custody and would be questioned by the investigation officer and his team at Banjara Hills PS.

The retired officer was taken for seven-day custody for questioning based on confessions of the other accused Praneeth Rao, N Bhujanga Rao, and M Thirupathanna. In addition, Radha Kishan was also booked in another case in Kukatpally police station for threatening a person to vacate an apartment in Kukatpally.
