Police take techies protesting Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest into custody at Hitech City
Several unsuspecting techies that had gathered for a lunch hour protest for the second day were rounded by the police and were taken into custody
HYDERABAD: Taking a serious note of the ‘I am with CBN’ dharna allegedly organised by techies near Wipro junction in the financial district on Wednesday that resulted in a massive traffic jam, police have made several pre-emptive arrests at the Cyber Towers on Thursday,
Several unsuspecting techies that had gathered for a lunch hour protest for the second day were rounded by the police and were taken into custody. The police first checked the IT cards of the protesters and tried to ascertain their antecedents from their employers. Police advised a few to return to their offices and let them go. However, others who failed to convince the police were arrested.
Some of the arrested persons argued with the police that they were just bystanders waiting for their transport and others refused to get into the police van saying that they were not employees of any IT company but were students.
The police, on the other hand, have made it clear that no protest would be allowed without prior permission from the police department particularly in the IT sector which was already saturated with heavy traffic, and any hindrance would result in hours-long traffic jams.
