HYDERABAD: The South Central Railway police on Tuesday apprehended a pseudo police officer at Secunderabad Railway station.

The imposter, known as Malvika and residing in Narketpally, graduated from Nizam College and attempted the Railway Protection Force Sub Inspector (ARPFSI) exam in 2018. However, she was disqualified during the medical examination stage due to an eye impairment.

Malvika's deception came to light when she attempted to impress prospective marriage partners by fabricating her job status and even wore the SI uniform. However, her ruse was exposed when the groom's family initiated inquiries with the higher authorities.

Malavika, who went to the extent of creating Instagram reels while wearing a police uniform, allegedly fabricated her identity due to concerns from her parents regarding her marriage prospects.
