Rachakonda traffic police issue traffic diversions for IPL matches in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Traffic police wing of the Rachakonda Commissionerate has created an extensive traffic management plan to ensure proper traffic regulation of general traffic as well as spectators travelling to the stadium in view of seven IPL-2023 matches scheduled at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad.

About 215 traffic personnel would be deployed on match days to carry out this Traffic Management Plan.

The Traffic Management Plan is divided into eight sectors, which include regions in and around the stadium such as spectator parking, major junctions/main roads for general traffic, roads going to the stadium, contingency diversions, and so on.

Pedestrian Entry Points

The Spectators after parking their vehicles or after alighting from Metro/Bus/Cab/etc. can enter the access roads to stadium from 3 Locations i.e. Ek Minar Masjid road, Stadium Road opposite LG Godown (diagonally opposite to Modern Bakery) and Hindu Office Road(opposite Genpact).

Signages and Directional Boards

A number of Signages/Directional Boards will be placed along the routes to the Parking Places and Venue.

The Spectators may look for the important Master Directional Boards and Location Map for Parking and Venue at Uppal X Roads, Street No. 8 Junction, Habsiguda Junction, Ek Minar Masjid and few other locations.

A total number of 46 Distance Alert Display Boards along the routes to Parking Locations are also being placed. In total about 324 Signage/Informatory Boards are being placed.

Suggestions for IPL Spectators

1. Please Cooperate with the Traffic Police Personnel on duty and the directions given by them.

2. Parking locations would be filled up on first and first Serve basis. Please try to reach the Parking Place sufficiently in advance to park your vehicle at the nearest parking location.

3. Spectators may prefer to use the Metro Rail services to avoid parking and have quicker access to the venue. The Pedestrian Entry to the Stadium is only a few meters from the Stadium Metro Station.

4. Spectators may reach the venue sufficiently in advance to have easy access to venue.

5. Red FM is going to provide Traffic updates regarding IPL on match day.

Spectators may avail the facility.

Advisory/Information for General Traffic General Traffic

1. There would be no restrictions on movement of general traffic.

2. If commuters from Uppal X Roads go towards Tarnaka or Habsiguda Junction, wish to avoid the stretch from Uppal X Road to Genpact, they have the option to take the route from Ramanthapur road to Habsiguda junction via Habsiguda Street No.8
