Revanth Reddy launches T-Safe service by women safety wing for vulnerable groups
Users can access the service by dialing 100 or 112 and selecting the newly introduced option '8' in the IVR menu
HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched the Travel Safe (T-Safe) service on Tuesday, a ride monitoring mechanism aimed at enhancing safety for women, children, and other vulnerable groups in the state.
This marked the first instance in the country where a service facilitated proactive emergency police response through automation, eliminating the need for the citizen to press any button or dial 100 again.
Users can access the service by dialing 100 or 112 and selecting the newly introduced option '8' in the IVR menu. Additionally, an automated link is sent to the users, allowing access to the service through the Travel Safe Application on Google Play Store or the T-Safe webpage.
While utilising the service, citizens receive automated alerts via the app or phone calls at regular intervals and failure to respond appropriately initiate prompt police response. Addressing the audience, the Chief Minister said that T-Safe was not just an app but a service accessible without the need for a smartphone or app download. Even individuals with basic phones could access T-Safe by dialing 100 and select option 8 in the IVR menu to activate ride monitoring by the T-Safe team, he added.
In emergencies, the technology also shares a live tracking link to the Police Patrol Vehicle. Currently, the emergency response fleet comprised 791 patrol cars and 1085 blue colts. When using the app, users can share a live location link with their contacts.
Looking ahead, the Women Safety Wing announced plans to integrate T-Safe with applications of cab aggregators and other private transport services. Revanth Reddy hailed the Telangana Police for their ongoing efforts to enhance safety for women and children in the state.
