SCR introduces new MMTS services from Medchal-Lingampalli

HYDERABAD: South Central Railway (SCR) has introduced six new MMTS services between Medchal - Lingampalli, Medchal - Hyderabad, and Medchal - Lingampalli areas starting October 1, 2023.

Additionally, South Central Railway also introduced six MMTS services between Umdanagar - Secunderabad and Falaknuma - Secunderabad to improve connectivity in the twin-city region.

MMTS services have been reorganized in the twin city region, with four new services introduced between Medchal - Lingampalli Section, based on feedback from suburban travelers.

The services were introduced during the morning and evening peak hours, enhancing the convenience for daily commuters and office goers. The MMTS Train has introduced connectivity between Medchal and Hyderabad stations for the first time.

The MMTS services' timings have been revised in the new timetable to accommodate the travel needs of various passenger segments. The services have been designed to cater to the peak traffic hours across various MMTS stations, prioritizing the convenience of office commuters.

These Services would strengthen the rail connectivity of outer-sub urban areas of the city and would be particularly beneficial to students, commuters, small business people, ladies, employees etc. The services aim to enhance rail connectivity in outer-suburban areas, benefiting students, commuters, small businesses, ladies, and employees.

MMTS services were also connected to Kacheguda- Bengaluru (Yesvantpur) Vande Bharat train timings, enabling suburban travelers to reach Kacheguda station during morning and evening hours.

Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager of South Central Railway said, "the new timetable prioritises meeting the travel demands of office workers and those commuting long distances due to various works and family obligations. More rail passengers in the twin city region can now take advantage of the most cost-effective, safe, and speedy transit option."
