SCR restores fire accident-affected segments, transports passengers

HYDERABAD: The South Central Railway (SCR) has restored the segment and it's train movement at 5:55pm that were disrupted by a fire on Falaknuma express on Friday.

According to SCR, the incident impacted five coaches of the Falaknuma express.The train was travelling between the Bommaipalli and Pagidipalli segment of the Guntur Division when alert railway staff observed the smoke.

They pulled the alarm chain and stopped the train near Bibinagar Railway station. The on-board staff immediately helped the passengers exit the train in the quickest possible way. There were no injuries or fatalities reported, and all passengers were safely evacuated off the train.

Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR, rushed to the spot with a team of senior officials after learning about the incident. Accident relief and medical relief trains were also rushed to the scene. The General Manager oversaw the rescue operations on the ground and supervised the relief operations, which included providing transportation to the stranded passengers.

The stranded passengers of the impacted train were transported to the Secunderabad station by both rail and bus. The train's unaffected coaches were removed from the formation, and passengers were transported on the same train.

Additionally, buses were organised to transport the impacted passengers. Snacks and water bottles were also made available to the stranded passengers.

A help desk was also set up at Secunderabad Railway Station to provide information regarding the incident and train operations etc.

In addition, food preparations were made and vehicles were planned to transport passengers from two trains that were cancelled owing to the section interruption. Buses were organised so that passengers could travel to both Secunderabad and Guntur.
