Six cars collide with one another upon hitting an overturned lorry on PVNR Expressway
The police said that an overspeeding mini goods lorry lost control and all of a sudden overturned on the PVNR Expressway near pillar number 148 between Shamshad and Mehdipatnam
HYDERABAD: As many as six cars were damaged as a cascading effect when one car hit a goods lorry that overturned on the PV Narasimha Rao (PVNR) Expressway at Rajendranagar on Saturday. Though no casualties were reported, all cars were damaged.
The police said that an overspeeding mini goods lorry lost control and all of a sudden overturned on the PVNR Expressway near pillar number 148 between Shamshad and Mehdipatnam. Because of this, six cars which were travelling on the same route collided with each other. People travelling in cars sustained minor injuries leading to a huge traffic snarl on the route.
Unfortunately, a person also sustained severe injuries after he was hit by an overspeeding car when he got down from his vehicle to clear the traffic movement on the PVNR Expressway. Upon receiving information about the incident, a team of police personnel rushed to the spot. The injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital. Traffic police are making efforts to shift the mini-goods lorry from the PVNR Expressway.
The police launched a detailed inquiry into the incident based on examining the CCTV footage in the surrounding areas.
