HYDERABAD: A district forest officer in Suryapet rescued a 10-year-old male sloth bear, hiding in a house, at 11 pm on Sunday.
Following its capture, the bear was taken to Hyderabad's Nehru Zoological Park for additional medical evaluation. After a comprehensive checkup, the zoo's veterinarians issued the fitness certificate for its release into the wild.
The rescued sloth bear was released on Monday in the natural territory of Amrabad Tiger Reserve of Achampet in Nagar Kurnool District of Telangana, as per the instructions of state chief wildlife warden.
