HYDERABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday appointed retired judge of the apex court Justice Lavu Nageswara Rao to oversee the upcoming Hyderabad Cricket Association elections (HCA).

Some unconfirmed reports claimed that the Supreme Court also dissolved the current governing body of the HCA while appointing the single-member committee to oversee the association’s affairs. The Supreme Court-appointed supervisory body will now monitor the association’s process for conducting the upcoming elections for the HCA.

A bench of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Manoj Misra, and Aravind Kumar ruled that the current political impasse must be resolved and elections must be held fairly.

It was also directed that the Hyderabad Cricket Association assist Justice Rao in every possible manner.
