HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court on Monday issued a key order asking the State Government to not immerse the Plaster of Paris (PoP) Ganesh Idols in Hussain Sagar and other lakes in the city. The court instead suggested the idols to be immersed in artificial ponds.
The High Court ruled that the State government must adhere to its earlier promise to immerse PoP idols in artificial ponds. The court directed Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Ronald Rose to take necessary steps and put them into effect.
The High Court also made it clear that these orders must be followed and a report should be submitted to it.
