Telangana police offer huge discounts on traffic challans; can be availed from December 26

HYDERABAD: Telangana police offered significant discounts on pending traffic challans approved by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Friday.

According to the massive discount, challans imposed on two and three-wheelers will be discounted by 80 percent, while challans levied on four-wheelers and large trucks will be discounted by 60 percent.

These discounts are being offered in anticipation of the Mega National Lok Adalath on December 30, 2023, which will be held next week under the supervision of the Telangana High Court. The discounts can be availed from December 26, 2023.

Commuters with pending vehicle challans can clear them online from December 12, 23 upto January 19, 2023 through the E- challan traffic website.

Many commuters from Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda took advantage of the discount offer in March 2022 and cleared their outstanding challans. However, due to a lack of information, many people in Telangana's districts and rural areas were not able clear their challans even after the discount offer.

Discounts offered by the State Government are as follows

• For push carts (39b cases) to pay 10 percent and 90 percent is waived off (90% discount)
• For RTC Drivers to pay 10 percent and 90 percent is waived off(90% discount)
• For 2W( bikes etc) and 3 Wheelers ( Autos etc) , to pay 20 percent and 80 percent is waived off(80% discount )
• Light motor vehicle (LMVs) cars, 4 wheelers, and heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) (trucks) can pay 40 percent, while 60 percent is waived off, providing a 60 percent discount.
