Telangana University in Nizamabad has awarded the Doctorate to senior journalist Pasunuru Sridhar Babu for completing the research on the subject 'Role of Television News in Telangana Movement'
HYDERABAD: Telangana University in Nizamabad has awarded the Doctorate to senior journalist Pasunuru Sridhar Babu for completing the research on the subject 'Role of Television News in Telangana Movement'.
The senior journalist in his research established that the Television media had played a crucial role in the Telangana movement by portraying the idealogy, aspirations, and emotions of the youth behind the separate Telangana state. He also revealed that the Telangana movement has spread to the masses through television media.
Professor of Journalism from Telugu University Sudhir Kumar, an external examiner conducted the viva-voce at the University Arts and Science College Conference Hall on Friday, said that he had discussed the in-depth relationships between people's movements and TV media in the democratic system with Sridhar Babu.
Telangana University Vice-Chancellor D Ravinder Gupta along with teachers Dr. Shanta Bai and Dr. Srinivas Goud and research scholars from the university participated in the final seminar held on Friday.
Hailing from Motkur of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, Sridhar Babu completed his research under the guidance of Telangana University Mass Communication Department Head Professor Ghanta Chandrasekhar. He worked for India Today, HMTV, and 10TV in the past and is currently working as a senior broadcast journalist at BBC News.
Sridhar Babu has presented the morning news watch' program named 'Vartha Vyakhya' on HMTV during the Telangana movement from 2009 to 2014.
