Three held for illegal possession of Camels in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Commissioner's Task Force North Zone Team apprehended three accused for illegal possession of Camels for the purpose of slaughter in Hakimpet in Hyderabad on Monday.

Mohammed Ismail (30), Mohamed Salman (23), and Siraj Khan (40) were apprehended with four Camels, two butcher knives, three butcher cutting support wood, weighing scales, and measurement weights.

The main accused, Mohammed Ismail, who previously worked as a butcher at Beef Shop and currently owns Best Beef Shop in Hyderabad's paramount colony.

According to Nitika Pant Mohammed Ismail, Dy.Commissioner of Police, Task Force, Hyderabad, their plan was to sell camel meat and to make easy money.

The trio contacted Shyam, an Indore resident, and purchased seven Camels three months ago. They slaughtered three Camels and sold Camel meat to needy customers for Rs.400 per kg, making easy money. The remaining animals were illegally kept near Hakimpet Kunta.

On December 3, 2023, based on credible information, the accused were apprehended by the Commissioner's Task Force, North Zone and handed over to SHO Film Nagar police station for further action.

The city police issued a warning stating that it is illegal to slaughter any animal except permitted by the law. The police also advised the public against illegal possession camels for slaughter, as it is illegal and violators may face legal consequences under relevant acts.
