The shifting of the 43 MLAs became inevitable after Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan delayed the meeting with the JMM-Congress-RJD coalition’s Chief Ministerial candidate Champai Soren. Champai Soren has been given 10 days to prove his government's majority.

Initially, the MLAs were stationed at the Circuit House in Rachi overnight and were supposed to board a special flight. However bad weather delayed their travel plans. On being asked where the Jharkhand MLAs are headed, JMM MLA Hafizul Hassan at Ranchi airport said: "Hyderabad, to eat biryani."
