Trio nabbed in Rs. 12 lakhs Hashish Oil smuggling racket

HYDERABAD: The Special Operations Team (SOT), Balanagar, in collaboration with Sanathnagar Police, apprehended three individuals involved in a hashish oil smuggling racket on Tuesday.

The suspects were identified as Ampili Balaraju from Srikakulam, Madugula Sathish from Bowenpally, Hyderabad, and Bagari Nagesh from Sikh Village, Bowenpally.

The joint operation seized a substantial amount of contraband, including 2 liters of hashish oil, Rs. 1,200 in cash, and a Pulsar bike valued at Rs. 12 lakhs. The arrests were made under U/S. 8 (C) r/w 20 (B) (ii) (C) NDPS ACT at the Sanath Nagar police station, Cyberabad.

The accused individuals were also involved in narcotics-related offenses in the past. The seized material also included mobile phones, empty small boxes, and a syringe used for packaging the drugs.

The accused were reportedly part of a larger network, with connections to a supplier, Vandalam Nagarjuna, from Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, who is currently absconding. The hashish oil was procured from supplier Nagarjuna and distributed in and around Hyderabad.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Balanagar zone, Cyberabad, urged citizens to report any information related to drug suppliers. Educational institutions were specifically called upon to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities among students.

The arrests were carried out under the supervision of D. Srinivas, DCP, SOT, Medchal, and various law enforcement units.
