Two held for illegal possession of Rs 97.30 lakh in cash in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: HYDERABAD: The Commissioner's Task Force, North Zone, in collaboration with Panjagutta Police, has seized Rs 97,30,000 unaccounted cash from an Innova car while conducting vehicle checks at the Greenlands traffic signal in Punjagutta on Sunday.

According to deputy commissioner of police Nitika Pant, the accused have been identified as 31-year-old car driver Manda Anil Goud and 35-year-old autorickshaw driver Arpula Ravi.

The duo were instructed to collect cash from businessman Tirumal Reddy's office in Somajiguda who is the director of Sai Datta Constructions. They were asked to deliver the amount to the construction company's office in Sahakara Nagar in Hanamkonda. However they were apprehended near the Greenland signal by the task force. The police seized the cash as well as the car they were travelling in.
