An undertrial prisoner arrested in a theft case and lodged in the Tukaram Gate police station in Secunderabad died at a hospital while undergoing treatment after collapsing at the police station
SECUNDERABAD: An undertrial prisoner arrested in a theft case and lodged in the Tukaram Gate police station in Secunderabad died at a hospital while undergoing treatment after collapsing at the police station.
Chiranjeevi, who belonged to LB Nagar in Hyderabad, was arrested in a theft case filed at Tukaram Gate Police Station. He was shifted to Gandhi hospital in Secunderabad after complaining of health issues at the police station and reportedly died while undergoing treatment.
As the police had kept the issue confidential, the family members of the deceased rushed to the DCP office in Secunderabad and staged a protest. However, the police forcibly shifted the family members to Gandhi Hospital in a police vehicle and deployed forces at the hospital premises.
Meanwhile, the cause of the death and the full details could be ascertained after the post-mortem report and the family members of the deceased are demanding justice.
