The Director of Health advised people to take up the 'Friday - Dry Day' program and suggested that people should take proper food, fresh water and take personal precautions to avoid seasonal diseases.
He said that fever should be tested and asked all government hospitals to stock up test kits.
"Instead of going to private hospitals and spending money, it is advised to go to the nearest government hospital as all the facilities have been arranged there keeping in mind the seasonal diseases," he said.
He also said that pregnant women should admit themselves in hospital at least a week earlier. He said that extra care should be taken of infants, young children and the elderly.
Srinivas Rao said that under the guidance of Cheif Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the health profile pilot program had been completed in Siricilla and Mulugu districts and the data was being examined. He said that KCR would soon decide about the implementation of the pilot programme across the state.
