HYDERABAD: Welcoming Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's decision to name the new secretariat, which is being constructed, after Dr. BR Ambedkar, the State BJP president Bandi Sanjay has taken potshots at the former reminding him of the Dalit chief minister's promise made during the Telangana agitation.

Bandi Sanjay challenged KCR to announce Dalit as the chief minister until TRS was in power.

The state president of the BJP has alleged that it is only after the chief minister's daughter and MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha's name surfaced in the Delhi liquor scam, KCR started new politics in the name of Dr. BR Ambedkar to divert the people's attention.


Sanjay, who is on the fourth day of Praja Sangrama Yatra on Thursday in Secunderabad Cantonment constituency, paid tributes to the portrait of Bharat Ratna Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya in honor of Engineers Day and recalled the services of great engineer.

Speaking on the occasion, Bandi Sanjay said that the Telangana Liberation Day would be organised on parade grounds with a parade of armed forces and other cultural programs.

The Karimnagar MP claimed that the KCR had succumbed to the pressure to hold the Telangana Integration Day on September 17 only after the centre decided to celebrate the Telangana Liberation Day. He questioned why the TRS government had not conducted any programs on Liberation Day in the last eight years. Bandi Sanjay also flayed KCR for not fulfilling the promise of erecting the Ambedkar statue in Hyderabad.

Bandi Sanjay recalled that it was due to the efforts of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, that Telangana was freed from the Nizams and alleged that the Chief Minister was distorting history.
