St Joseph’s Degree & PG College celebrates Cinevolution-2023

HYDERABAD: Minister for Animal Husbandry and Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav’s has laid emphasis on the growing importance of Hyderabad as a hub of India’s movie industry, with hundreds of films and television programs being produced every year.

He was the chief guest at Cinevolution 2023 – the eighth edition of Hyderabad’s colorful National Youth Film Festival celebrated on Saturday at St. Joseph’s Degree and PG College, King Koti.

The event also marked the institution’s silver jubilee celebrations.

Srinivas Yadav said that educational institutions played a pivotal role in nurturing the students into future citizens and enhance their talent and skills.

Cinevolution has been the flagship event of the college’s Department of Mass Communication and Journalism.

It was inaugurated by Srinivasa Yadav.

Principal Fr. Dr. D Sunder Reddy, Correspondent Fr. K. Marreddy Correspondent, Director Prof. PL Vishweshwer Rao, Dean Fr. T Prabhudas, movie director Anish Kuruvilla, Journalist Chilukuri Sushil Rao (Editor, special reports, Times of India), and musician Dr. Bunty also participated in the event.

The prizes for best documentaries went to Pitch, Bah Bot, and Glint (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and for short films to Vidhi Aata, Son of Subba Rao, and Chai Sutta Talab Katta (1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively).

A number of prominent media personalities were also present. The students organised classical dance and music perforrmances. The festival brought together aspiring film makers from all over India. With 40 films in the fray, spread over two categories – ‘Short Films’ and ‘Documentaries’, the students enjoyed a veritable cinematic treat.
