Crime rate in Cyberabad lower in 2022: Stephen Ravindra
In the report, it was revealed that the overall crime rate in Cyberabad reduced by 12 percent as compared to 2021
HYDERABAD: In the Annual Round Up Meet 2022, organised by the Cyberabad police on Friday, Cyberabad Commissioner of Police Stephen Ravindra said that the police were able to achieve a 12 percent drop in crime rate as compared to an increase of crime rate recorded in 2021.
Stephen Raveendra said, "In 2022, we were able to serve people better than ever. Festivals and special events organised in Cyberabad limits reported zero percent accidents or unfortunate incidents. We were able to achieve a lesser crime rate with good manpower, vehicles and resources. Officers of all levels worked together to speedily solve crimes and enforce law and order."
In the report, it was revealed that the overall crime rate in Cyberabad reduced by 12 percent as compared to 2021.
- Calls to the police to lodge complaints increased by 46 percent
- Property offences decreased by 28 percent and property offences detection rate increased by 14.6 percent.
- Property offences recovery rate increased by 102 percent.
- Crime against women were reduced by 8.34 percent as compared to 2021.
- Crime against weaker sections decreased by 19.8 percent
- Road accidents saw a massive decrease of 19 percent as compared to 2021
- Guthka cases decreased by 17.3 percent.
- Murders reduced by 15.45 percent and rape cases reduced by 11.24 percent
- Narcotic cases were reduced by 9.75 percent
- Kidnapping cases decreased by 4.9 percent.
Though under control, few crime scenarios saw an increase in percentage. Cheating and cyber crime increased by 25 percent and 14 percent respectively. Immoral trafficking cases increased by 34 percent and culpable homicide cases increased by 33.33 percent.
