In what is suspected by the police as a suicide pact, four of a family were found dead in their apartment flat in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: In what is suspected by the police as a suicide pact, four of a family were found dead in their apartment flat in Hyderabad on Monday. The incident happened in Tarnaka under the Osmania University police limits.
The deceased were identified as Pratap (34), his wife Sindhura (32), their daughter Aadya (4) and Pratap’s mother Rajati. While Pratap was found dead, hanging from the ceiling of their residence, the other three were found dead inside their flat, sparking suspicions on the nature of their death. The police, after preliminary investigation, suspect this to be a family suicide pact. The family was believed to have belonged to Chennai and migrated to Hyderabad for employment.
According to details available with the police, Pratap was working as a design manager in the BMW car showroom in the city. His wife, Sindhura, was a manager at the Himayatnagar branch of a private bank. The neighbours, who grew suspicious after the door of the residential flat was not opened since Sunday, informed the police.
The police suspect that family disputes might have led to the suicides. OU Inspector Ramesh informed that the dead bodies were shifted to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination and that the investigation was underway.
