Hyderabad hosts '50th Pandit Jasraj Sangeet Samaroha', city turns into melody

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad is witnessing the performances of some of Indian classical music's most renowned artists from November 24 to November 30, as part of the 50th Pandit Jasraj Pt Motiram Pt Maniram Sangeet Samaroh, one of India's biggest traditional music festivals. The seven-day music festival is being organised at Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), Hitec City. 

The Sangeet Samaroh has always been hosted in Hyderabad, for 50 years now, as an ode to Pandit Jasraj – An Indian classical music vocalist whose musical career spanned 75 long years, who considered Hyderabad to be his home. He received national and international recognition for his performances in classical and semi-classical music.

Durga Jasraj, the daughter of Pandit Jasraj and an Indian cultural music lover, organised the event with the support of the Government of Telangana and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).
