HYDERABAD: An old building in the kattela mandi area of Nampally collapsed after heavy rain on Monday night. Fortunately, the residents were able to escape in time and no casualties were reported.
Heavy rains lashed the city on Monday evening owing to thunderstorm activities over the State. According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), Nampally saw the highest rainfall of 50 mm in just two hours.
According to the report, Nampally, Mehdipatnam, Khairatabad, Hayathnagar, Rajendranagar and Asifnagar received over 30 mm rainfall.
The cloudburst resulted in waterlogging at several places. Hyderabad Traffic Police had issued a traffic advisory and requested people to postpone travel plans as there were heavy traffic jams reported across the city until late Monday night.
