KCR welcomes President Draupadi Murmu at Hakimpet airport

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chadrandrashekar Rao (KCR) on Monday felicitated President Draupadi Murmu after extending a warm welcome at the Hakimpet airport near here.

KCR greeted the President with a bouquet before honouring her with a shawl upon the latter's arrival following a brief visit to Srisailam. Draupadi Murmu arrived in Hyderabad earlier on Monday as part of her five-day southern sojourn. She will be camping at the Rashtrapati Nilayam, which serves as a Presidential retreat, at Bollaram.

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan was also present on this occasion. Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy, Legislative Council Chairman Guttha Sukhender Reddy, GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, DGP Mahender Reddy besides a host of state government and naval and army officials greeted Murmu.

The President later received a guard of honour presented by the military personnel. Murmu, following her arrival at the Shamshabad airport earlier in the day, took off in a helicopter to Srisailam in Andhra Pradesh for a darshan at the Sri Bhramarabha Mallikarjuna Swamy temple there. After darshan, she reached the Hakimpet airport where she was received by KCR and others.
