L&T, MEIL, DEC Infra to build TIMS hospitals at LB Nagar, Sanath Nagar, Alwal in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Telangana state government on Saturday gave administrative sanctions to establish three new superspeciality hospitals - Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits.
The aforementioned three hospitals will be set up in LB Nagar of Ranga Reddy with a cost of Rs. 900 crores, Sanath Nagar of Hyderabad district at a cost of Rs. 882 Crore, and Alwal of Medchal- Malkajgiri district at a cost of Rs. 897 crores respectively.
The total cost of the three projects amounts to Rs. 2,679 crore.
Taking forward the proposals, the Commissionerate of Tenders also approved tenders for the construction of the superspecialty hospitals and the LoA was issued by the Roads and Buildings department to the successful bidders.
According to the tender details, Larsen and Toubro company bagged the tender for the construction of TIMS at LB Nagar quoting Rs. 668 Crore, while Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd. quoted Rs. 669 Crore for TIMS at Sanathnagar and DEC Infrastructure & Projects (India) Pvt Ltd. was chosen for TIMS Alwal as it quoted of Rs.669 crore.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had announced the setting up of three TIMS hospitals around the city to cater to the needs of people in the outskirts and surrounding towns and villages. The TIMS hospitals would be multi-super specialty facilities. The decision to accelerate the medical infrastructure was taken long ago and was accelerated following the Covid-19 pandemic.
The State Government launched several medical colleges and district hospitals across Telangana.
