Moodle acquires Hyderabad-based edtech startup eAbyas

HYDERABAD: Moodle—an open-source learning management system used by hundreds of millions of students worldwide—announced its acquisition of eAbyas Info Solutions, a company based in Hyderabad, on Saturday.

This acquisition allows Moodle to enter one of the world's largest and fastest growing eLearning markets, allowing Indian customers to access a comprehensive range of services directly from Moodle.

Moodle acquired Indian start-up eAbyas for its technical strength in development and providing services such as implementation, integration, and hosting to the global market. Moodle intends to expand the Indian arm to 400 members in the next two years to support product development and global Moodle services.

KTR congratulated the Moodle acquisition of eAbyas, and said "given the recent uptake in online learning and increasing internet access in India, this entry is the right opportunity for the open edtech platform like Moodle to play a key role in transforming India's digital learning".
