HYDERABAD: Telangana BJP MLA Raja Singh claimed on Thursday that the Telangana police department hatched a conspiracy against him. He said that the police department issued two 41(A) warrants on two old cases with the intention of arresting him on Thursday. These cases, he said, are from two different police stations on cases booked on April 12, 2022 and February 19, 2022.

He claimed that outdated notices were served on him on August 25, 2022. He also questioned whether the Telangana Police Department was still sitting on the notices. He went on to say that the Telangana state police were planning another arrest and as a result, he claimed, they served him with these old notices on Thursday.

Raja Singh's statement read: "By issuing two 41(A) warrants from separate police stations, which include Shahinayathgunj p.s. and Mangalhat police stations, on cases booked in the months of April and February, but issued on August 24, 2022 and served on me on Thursday at 11.00 am, don't you think the department has been conspiring up to this point? It appears that they have plans to arrest me again today (Thursday)".

Raja Singh, the BJP's controversial MLA from Goshamahal, was arrested by the Hyderabad police on Tuesday morning after his alleged objectionable remarks sparked protests from AIMIM and caused tension. However, the Nampally Criminal Court on Tuesday evening ordered his immediate release, citing non-compliance with the CRPC procedures.
