Royal family of Nizam in Hyderabad for interment of Mukarram Jah's body

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao also paid floral tributes to Prince Mukarram Jah at Chowmahalla Palace on Tuesday evening

HYDERABAD: Royal family of the last Nizam of the Asaf Dynasty Prince Mukarram Jah arrived in Hyderabad for his burial, which would happen in the Chowmahalla Palace on Wednesday.

Prince Azmet Jah and Princess Shehkyar accompanied the mortal remains of their father from Turkey to Chowmahalla Palace and two other of his children, Princess Niloufer Elif Jah and Prince Azam Khan also arrived in the city to join the funeral.

Prince Mukarram Jah's younger brother Mir Karamat Ali Muffakham Jah Bahadur also arrived from London. According to sources, the family would be staying at Chiran Palace in Jubilee Hills.

The Arab community of Hyderabad, who always welcomed the Nizam with love, would also be paying homages to his earthly remains.

All arrangements of the Prince’s funeral were done by his former wife Princess Esra. They were married from 1959 to 1974. However, they shared a friendly bond.

The Prince’s body is currently at Chowmahalla Palace and would be buried at Makka Masjid on January 18 amid State honours.
