Super Star Krishna critical, on ventilator in Hyderabad hospital

HYDERABAD: Tollywood Super Star and Yesteryear actor Ghattamaneni Krishna is in a critical condition following a cardiac arrest he suffered in the early hours of Monday. He was admitted to the Continental Hospital where he is put on a ventilator in view of his health condition.

A health bulletin released by the hospital said: "Ghattamaneni Krishna was brought into the emergency department of Continental Hospitals, Hyderabad at 01: 15 am this morning for cardiac arrest. The doctors immediately performed CPR and resuscitated him within 20 minutes and shifted him to the ICU for treatment and observation.

"He currently remains in a critical state and has been put on a ventilator. An expert, multi-disciplinary team including cardiologists, neurologists and critical care specialists are closely monitoring his clinical condition. The family members have been appraised of his condition accordingly."

The aging actor was reported to be suffering from respiratory issues for quite some time now. Due to this, he is reported to be largely confining himself to his residence. The last time he made a public appearance was when Rebel Star Krishnam Raju passed away. Krishna went to his house to pay respects to the mortal remains of Krishnam Raju.

Krishna's wife and Super Star Mahesh Babu's mother Indira Devi too passed away recently.
