Tollywood hero Nagarjuna served notice over illegal excavation work in Goa
Nagarjuna was served a notice from a panchayat in Goa over the alleged illegal construction being carried out in Mandrem village
HYDERABAD: Tollywood actor Akkineni Nagarjuna was served a notice from a panchayat in Goa over the alleged illegal construction being carried out in Mandrem village. The sarpanch of Mandrem panchayat Amit Sawant has issued a notice to Nagarjuna asking him to stop illegal constructions and warned of taking legal action, if failed to do so.
According to reports, the sarpanch of Mandrem panchayat noticed that the excavation works were being carried out on a hillock in the Goan village without obtaining permission. He also reportedly found that the works were being carried out on behalf of Nagarjuna and issued a 'stop work' notice on Wednesday as per the Goa Panchayat Raj Act.
The Mandrem panchayat, in the notice claimed that the actor-producer had started digging works on the land with survey No. 211/2B at Ashvewada in the Mandrem area without prior permission. In the notice, Nagarjuna was warned of action as per Panchayat Raj Act 1994 if the works were not stopped immediately.
There was no immediate response from the Tollywood stalwart and his team clarifying the position on the land dispute in Goa.
