Visakhapatnam City police seize 50 blots of LSD, five held

VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam City Police have apprehended a gang trying to supply drugs on the occasion of Friendship Day on Sunday. The police arrested the perpetrators while roaming suspiciously near the railway station and seized 50 blots of LSD and 5 grams of MDMA from them. All five members of the gang were detained by the police.

The police found that this gang was collecting ganja from the surrounding areas of Visakhapatnam and taking it to Goa and selling it. Similarly, it is learnt that drugs were brought from Goa and sold locally. Visakhapatnam Commissioner of Police Srikanth said that this gang has been carrying out these activities for some time now and explained that all the members of this gang had been caught in drug cases in the past. It is also found that this gang was using the transactions through cryptocurrency.

The Police Commissioner said that the activities were being carried out using technology through social media and added that special measures were being taken to curb the use and sale of drugs.
