TIRUPATI: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay made sensational allegations on Thursday, accusing previous administrations of misusing the assets of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).

After visiting the Tirumala temple, Sanjay spoke to the media, claiming that political operatives had turned TTD into a rehabilitation centre for the unemployed.

Sanjay asserted that those who misappropriated the temple's assets are now gone, and a new administration dedicated to serving the deity has taken over. He labelled the former rulers of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in Andhra Pradesh as successors of Veerappan, accusing them of looting national wealth under the guise of red sandalwood trade. He emphasised that there would be no leniency for red sandalwood smugglers.

Sanjay accused the previous corrupt government of diverting temple funds and transforming Tirumala into a political rehabilitation centre. He called for a report on the red sandalwood plunder in the Seshachalam hills and promised action against those who looted national resources based on the findings.
