HYDERABAD: Chief Minister and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President A Revanth Reddy strongly denounced Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent remarks in which he alleged that if the Congress comes to power, the properties of Hindus will be distributed to Muslims.
Speaking at the Jana Jatara Sabha in Nizamabad in support of Congress candidate T Jeevan Reddy, Revanth Reddy expressed his concerns about Modi's divisive tactics, which he believed were aimed at creating a rift between religious communities. He questioned Modi's political motives and called for unity among all religions.
Revanth Reddy pointed out that the Congress party had ruled the country for several years and had never attempted to take anything from one community to give to another. He emphasized that India has a Constitution and a proper system in place to ensure that such actions are not possible. He added that it is unethical for any political party to attempt to snatch something from a community and give it to another. According to him, God should be in the temple, devotion should be in the heart, and it is not in the country's best interest to engage in such conspiracies to win elections.
The Chief Minister also promised to revive the closed sugar factory by September 17. He mentioned that a Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by D Sridhar Babu had been appointed to finalize the procedures for opening the closed sugar factory. He criticized former Chief Miniter K Chandrashekhar Rao's failure to reopen the sugar factory in 100 days as promised, and he accused KCR of having once threatened the farmers of Nizamabad against sowing paddy. Revanth Reddy praised the farmers of Nizamabad for "politically burying KCR in a 100-meter ditch" and proving that if anyone cheats the farmers of Nizamabad, they will be permanently buried in politics.
Revanth Reddy also criticized BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind for promising to bring the turmeric board, but instead, the BJP Government at the Centre formed a spices board and presented it as a turmeric board. He said the BJP leaders wrongly assumed that farmers of Nizamabad do not know the difference between a spices board and a turmeric board. He praised Congress candidate Jeevan Reddy for his dedication to farmers. He promised that if Jeevan Reddy wins, he will convince Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to give Jeevan Anna the post of Union Agriculture Minister. He said Jeevan Reddy would bring the turmeric board to Nizamabad as a Union Minister. Revanth Reddy asked the people to send a questioning voice (Jeevan Reddy) to the Parliament.
He also addressed another meeting in Adilabad, highlighting the implementation of five out of six guarantees given to the people by the Congress Government. He also promised to waive the crop loan of Rs 2 lakh soon. He admired the bravery and sacrifices of Ranji Gondu and Komuram Bheem, who fought against oppressors. He announced that the Indravelli martyrs' memorial would be promoted as a tourist centre. He said the Congress Government was allocating crores of rupees for the Nagoba Jatara to honour the tribal tradition.
Revanth Reddy also promised to complete the Kufti project and develop the area. He revealed that the Kadem project would be revised and developed, and the Maharashtra government would be convinced to construct a project near Tummidihetti, which would be named after Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. He also promised to start a university in Adilabad and reopen the closed cement factory in the area.
The Chief Minister accused KCR and Modi of trying to defeat the Congress Party, which is implementing guarantees given to the people. He claimed that they wanted to overthrow the 100-day-old Congress government and called Modi and KCR thieves. He pointed out that KCR had been defeated in December last, and Modi would also face defeat tomorrow. Revanth Reddy appealed to the people to vote for Congress candidate Atram Suguna.
